In the early hours of this morning, law enforcement officers in Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara, made a significant discovery following a tip-off that led them to a potentially dangerous situation. Acting on received information, police officers trailed a Toyota Allion car, registered as #PAE 2420, from a local bar to Crane Old Road, where they intercepted the vehicle and its driver.
The driver, identified as Samuel McIntyre, a 32-year-old self-employed individual from Bagotville, West Bank Demerara, was informed of the allegations against him. It was reported that McIntyre was suspected of carrying an unlicensed firearm, prompting the police to conduct a thorough search of his person and his vehicle. McIntyre cooperated with the authorities during the search process.
During the search, officers made a startling discovery inside McIntyre’s vehicle. Hidden within the car, they uncovered a 9mm Taurus pistol accompanied by a magazine loaded with eight live rounds of ammunition. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the police promptly confiscated the firearm and ammunition.
McIntyre was duly informed of the offence he had allegedly committed. Following standard procedure, he was cautioned, placed under arrest, and escorted, along with the seized firearm and ammunition, to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station for further investigation.
