Troy Trevor Elias, a 38-year-old, of Lot 4 Cromarty Farm Corentyne, Berbice, died following a horrific accident that happened at around 05:45h on the No. 36 Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.
Reports are that motorcar PGG 3721, which was reportedly driven by Troy, was proceeding South along the eastern drive lane on the mentioned road with an occupant seated in the front passenger seat allegedly at a fast rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a utility pole on the eastern side of the road.
As a result, the said vehicle spun several times and subsequently came to a halt. Troy and the occupant were subsequently taken out of the vehicle.
The driver was in an unconscious condition and the occupant in a semi conscious condition.They were placed into a police motor pickup by public spirited citizens and taken to Skeldon Public Hospital.
Troy was pronounced dead on arrival.The occupant was admitted and is receiving medical attention for lacerations about his body. His condition is regarded as stable.
The body of Troy is presently lying at the said hospital mortuary, awaiting post mortem examination. Investigtions are continuing.
