According to a receipt seen by this publication, the machine was purchased by David for $115,200. During an interview with the news, Ronald said that David was at his friend’s place in Tuschen on Tuesday night when the incident occurred between 20:30 and 21:00 hours.

Ronald said: “He (David) has a taxi friend that moves him around with his tools when he’s working. So the taxi guy had a party so he was at the friend birthday party in his yard. They were sitting in the yard with the family of the driver…so, a couple of days before this incident, the two guys approached David and told him they had lost a machine. If they knew anybody got it, let them know because they are always around working. So they ain’t see nobody.”

The man divulged that while his brother was at the birthday party, the cricketer and his brother-in-law, along with others, allegedly went to David’s friend home and kidnapped him.

Ronald said that the man is also called “David.”

“Whilst at this party. They go and kidnapped his friend the old guy David at his house, dragged him out, put him in their car, armed themselves with some long sword, baseball bat and hockey stick, take the old guy to my brother’s house, he wasn’t at home. Then somebody said he at a birthday party. They took the old guy to the house, then they said look David, my brother is there. They didn’t ask no question. They started beating he, bruck up the whole chair he was sitting on. They cordon off the area so nobody could rescue him. Beat he until he unconscious then they take off his keys off his waist jumped in back the car with the old guy, go back to my brother apartment opened the door, take out his brand new machine, a stove, and $115,000 Guyana dollars, then they loose the old man on the road and they go away,” Ronald revealed.

He added that after his brother regained consciousness, David begged his friends to take him to his home. Once he arrived there, he observed that his home was broken into and ransacked.

Ronald said: “Then they take him to the police, and police gave him a medical form. When he got to Lenora, Lenora referred him to Best because of the seriousness of the injuries. The femur bone that holds the body weight destroyed.”

It was then revealed that David was also allegedly stabbed by the cricketer. David remains hospitalised at the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH).
