At about 17:00 hrs this afternoon, ranks at Mackenzie Police Station acted on information received and went to the back of Mackenzie Market where garbage and old freezers were dumped and found two firearms.
A search was conducted in one of the freezers and two suspected firearms were found. The firearms were wrapped in a T-shirt, which was further wrapped in a plastic bag.
The two firearms were photographed, removed and examined. One appeared to be a .32 revolver (serial number cannot be identified), and the other firearm appeared to be a .22 semi-automatic pistol. Further investigations are in progress.
